RetroKork - Winter Games

Now, since over here it's still more like fall and less like winter, I'm going to play (and talk about) Epyx' other most famous "Games" game besides Summer Games: Winter Games!

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Uridium

In this audio commentary, I talk about the good, the bad and the Uridium... Well, I might talk about all that... I'm not entirely sure if something comes to mind.

RetroKork - Ghosts'N Goblins

Ah, Ghosts'N Goblins, one of Capcom's longest running franchises - and I'm going to talk about the Commodore 64 conversion of this well-known arcade title.

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Ghostbusters

Aw shucks, did I seriously forget to add the Ghostbusters Audio Commentary?

I humbly beg your pardon but my life, it has been changing...

RetroKork - Boulder Dash

This halloween I talk about a puzzle game... with boulders: Boulder Dash for the Commodore 64.

Monday, October 24, 2011

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Movie Monster Game

Looking back at a... can one really say "franchise" if it's only two games? And if I'm merely looking at one of them? (Well, and in this commentary I talk briefly about "The Creature That Ate Sheboygan", the game that is the basis for Crush Crumble & Chomp - and of course for Movie Monster Game as well.)

RetroKork - Bomb Jack

This time I look at the Commodore 64 conversion of an arcade classic: "Bomb Jack".
Originally an arcade game from back in 1984 made by Tekhan (who you probably know better as Tecmo), the game was converted in 1986. But see for yourself:

Kork Scenes - Preparing for the Entity

With the "Entity" story arc on Atop The Fourth Wall slowly heading to its finale, I decided to do another fanvideo, just like I did when the "Lord Vyce" storyline came to its end.

So, after the break, there's another installment of "Kork Scenes".

Monday, October 10, 2011

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Spy vs Spy series

This time I look back at when I looked at MAD Magazine's "Spy vs Spy" - turned into a video game series by First Star.

Monday, October 3, 2011

RetroKork - The Last Ninja Series

Today I am looking at maybe one of the best series of Ninja themed games for the Commodore 64.
Of course I mean the "Last Ninja" game series.

Monday, September 26, 2011

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Pirates!

Ahoy! Well, okay, it's been six days since the International Talk Like A Pirate Day, but that doesn't keep me from showing you the audio commentary for my RetroKork Episode on Sid Meier's classic "Pirates!"

I'm also telling you a bit about what my original plans for this episode were.

RetroKork - Cliff Hanger

Following up on the Cliffhanger from the last RetroKork episode two weeks ago, I'll speak of a game going by the name of "Cliff Hanger" - sometimes also called "Cliffhanger" for some weird reason. But it's not containing any Stallone, instead one could try and call it a puzzle platformer.

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - California Games

Another look back at... another look back. Dang, this description sounds like inception (or a meme). Anyways: I've been watching "RetroKork - California Games" and... I still dislike the roller skating girl!

RetroKork - Great Giana Sisters

If you had an NES (or if anyone you knew had one), you are pretty familiar with Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. Heck, even I - who when I was a small child didn't know anyone with an NES - know about Super Mario Bros.

But back when I was a small boy, the closest thing I knew about was "Great Giana Sisters" - the game Nintendo forced off the shelves in europe because it's so similiar to SMB - but is it really?

I personally think it's different enough to be judged on its own - but you may disagree.

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Lazy Jones

This is the audio commentary to my Lazy Jones review.

Today I'm too lazy to make a silly little pun. Sorry.

RetroKork - To Be On Top

Ever wanted to be a famous musician?
Well, in today's game you are trying "To Be On Top".

Monday, August 15, 2011

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Green Beret

Another audio commentary. This time I watch my second RetroKork episode: Green Beret. And you know what? It's not a bad episode, I think.

Monday, August 8, 2011

RetroKork - Crush Crumble and Chomp

The first episode of year 2 and again it's time for giant movie monsters... Well, this time it's for the first time proper as we get to "Crush Crumble and Chomp"!

Audio Commentary: RetroKork - Verlies

A little more than one year ago, I made my very first RetroKork episode. And now I take a look back and talk about the episodes good and bad... but primarily the "not-so-great" moments from which anyone doing videos may learn.

Monday, July 25, 2011

RetroKork - Ghettoblaster

Do you know what a "Ghettoblaster" is? Exactly! And it's a game for the Commodore 64 as well (as if you wouldn't have guessed so.)

RetroKork - Year 2 Trailer

Here's a little look at the things that will come... I promise: Each and every game in that trailer will be in year 2 - even those I haven't written a script for yet (which is the majority of the games).
(Also, behind the break is a list of all upcoming titles.)

Vlog - Year 2 plans

Since I kind of fluked last week, here's a Vlog where I'm talking about what you can expect in the upcoming Year 2 of RetroKork.

Monday, July 4, 2011

RetroKork - He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe

There are games about movies, games about TV series... and games about He-Man. On the Commodore 64, nontheless!
And yeah, this episode is a week early...

Monday, June 27, 2011

RetroKork - Miami Vice

Today, we're headed down to Miami of the 80s... To be Crockett and Tubbs in "Miami Vice". And all that happens without us leaving our homes.

Monday, June 13, 2011

RetroKork - Outrun

Hop into your convertible and race through sunny landscapes, trying to beat the clock. Sounds familiar? Well, I speak of Outrun... which has current generation console sequels - but the original showed up on the Commodore 64. Twice. Wait... twice?

Monday, May 30, 2011

RetroKork - Summer Games

Since the summer is coming around (literally - we'll have 32°C/89.6F today over here) I think it's time to play some Summer Games.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

RetroKork - Hacker

Today's... well, kind of yesterday's game is using an approach that's semi-realistic... until it "simply" becomes a strategy game. I'm talking of Activision's "Hacker".

Why is this episode late? Simply said: technical difficulties.

Monday, May 2, 2011

RetroKork - Aztec Challenge

The aztecs, topic of today's game, did kill people to appease the gods.
This game may have killed many lesser joysticks - and maybe some people's patience as well.

RetroKork - Law of the West

Now that you're done protecting the bank, how about protecting the whole town? The town of Gold Gulch, for example? Well, prepare yourself for the "Law of the West".

Monday, April 4, 2011

RetroKork - West Bank

Welcome to the Wild West. You have just been assigned to protect the local bank which has a problem with lots of bandits. The game is "West Bank".

Friday, April 1, 2011

April fools? Not in here.

April 1st, the day more people get rickrolled than every other day in the year.

Not on my blog, simply because I haven't prepared anything. Of course I could post a fake story about something that is relevant to this blog but... I assume very few people really care about this blog. Even I don't post on here daily or so.

No, I'm not doing anything for April fools this year. Well, except this post, which is completely serious.

RetroKork - Impossible Mission

Professor Elvin Atombender is holding the world ransom with the nuclear missiles of all countries. You're the brave agent who has merely six hours left to stop that madman!

Can you stop him from doing evil? Or worse: Can I?

Monday, March 7, 2011

RetroKork - Paradroid

If your robots went rogue, wouldn't you prefer owning a device that you can control remotely AND which allows you to override the opposing robots?

If you just said yes - this is a game for you!

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

RetroKork - Little Computer People

Sorry about the delayed release of the episode, but I'm currently moving so... yeah.

Anyways: Did you know that in your computer there lives a small person? No? Well, it's not really really true but it's the premise of today's (or better to say: monday's) game: Little Computer People.

Monday, February 7, 2011

RetroKork - BurgerTime

Umm, what would you do if you wanted to make burgers but are too small to handle the ingredients? One way to overcome that problem is shown in the arcade game BurgerTime - and its weak Commodore 64 port.

Kork Scenes

I had a craving to produce videos that are not reviews at all but more like short films.

So I created the series "Kork Scenes", which as of today contains two videos (who are behind the break):

Monday, January 24, 2011

RetroKork - The BIG Deal

Have you ever played those flash games that put you into the shoes of a fry chef, a fast food cook? Or have you wondered where this may have started?
Well, today's game might be the first time someone reached into the processes behind your sandwiches...

RetroKork - Frankie Goes To Hollywood

When you're in Mundaneville ... or Liverpool and you want to find the Pleasuredome, what better way than to go with Frankie Goes To Hollywood and their Commodore 64 game?
Well, there's only one way to find out - and it's just beyond the break, not beyond the thunderdome.
